Lasting Impressions

Hyperpigmentations are dark blotches and discoloration of the skin caused by aging, allergic reactions, cosmetic irritants, skin disorders like eczema, and skin abrasions. The most common cause of hyperpigmentation is excessive sun exposure, which becomes more noticeable as we age. Depending upon the depth of the pigmentation, the treatment of this skin disorder can be taxing, requiring three to six months to achieve the desired results. Your options of treatments are simple…Uncover the skin you deserve:

  • As your esthetician, I would thoroughly assess your skin condition, asking medical concerns, and evaluating the severity of the dark spots and hyperpigmentation.
  • Levels of treatment would begin with a Glycolic Peel (30%) monthly, followed by Medical Microdermabrasion, which is a more aggressive form of exfoliation that increases collagen production and the overall tone of the skin. Discoloration of skin becomes less apparent after 6-8 treatments. For maximum results, a continuous, on-going treatments of microdermabrasion monthly will result in gradual disappearance of the hyperpigmentation. This form of treatment is less invasive, more cost effective, but does take longer to see results.
  • Selecting the proper peel – For more advanced Hyperpigmentation issues, a more aggressive peel – The Pluri (Glycolic Acid) Peel is recommended. With this peel, there is a slight stinging and burning sensation, a peeling can last up to 4-7 days following the treatment. It is only recommended to repeat this intense peel every 6- 8 weeks at minimum. A high dosage of SPF must be worn after receiving the Pluri Peel. By using the best ingredients to deliver an exceptionally effective, safe and easy to use chemical peel, the Pluri Peel is ideal for uncovering a fresh new skin.
  • IPL – Skin Rejuvenation. A safe and effective treatment to photo rejuvenate the skin and is completely safe to use with Glycolic Peels and Microdermabrasion treatments to target deeper layers of the epidermis. Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), treat a slightly deeper layer of the skin and photo facials stimulate collagen growth by attacking minor dermal injuries, therefore helping to improve the skin’s texture. In addition to improving the discoloration of the skin, IPL also reduces redness and appearance of small capillaries (broken blood vessels).

Finally, through consistent treatments in the spa such as Microdermabrasion, Glycolic, and Pluri Peels, and IPL photo facials, our clients can achieve excellent results to improve the skin’s pigmentation, increasing collagen and elastin production, resulting in more youthful, healthy-looking skin.
